United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The travel, culinary, architectural, and business hub of the Middle East is the UAE.  It lies on the east coast of the southeast end of the Persian Gulf.  It sits on the Arabian Peninsula, bordering Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south and west, as well as sharing maritime borders with Qatar to the west and Iran to the north.

The UAE is primarily Muslim and is host to many large and magnificent mosques, as shown here.  It also has an ancient history of tribal strife which gave rise to the construction of fortifications that are historical sites to this day.
